COTTAGE RENOVATION & ADDITION DESIGN, MCKAY LAKE

ROOTED IN NATURE COTTAGE

The Owners of this cottage on McKay Lake near Bracebridge approached us to design an addition & renovation project.

As is often the case when we are contacted for renovation designs, the Owners' family is growing to include new family members. As a result, additional sleeping rooms and space to host a larger group of guests are required.

The design goals included a larger renovated Kitchen and an expanded Dining Room, 2 additional Bedrooms, a new Muskoka Room, a additional Bathroom and renovation of an existing Bathroom.

Priority considerations during preliminary architectural design for this cottage addition included views to the lake, privacy from neighbouring properties, and private/quiet interior spaces buffered from the common living areas of the cottage.

An upgraded Kitchen including glass-front upper cabinets, granite countertops, crown molding and tiled backsplash was designed & installed by a local custom cabinet shop.
