The Owners of this boathouse on Lake Rosseau approached us to modify the existing structure.

Classic Muskoka Homes prepared a Fixed-Price proposal for the construction of a new sloped roof structure for the existing boathouse which had a flat roof previously.

Work got underway with demolition & framing work on the roof structure.  Upon investigation, it was determined that water ingress had caused damage to a wall and dock stringer timber along the boathouse's South wall.

A timber crib dock restoration & construction specialist performed repair work on the dock.  We subsequently repaired the rotted wall framing in boathouse South wall.

New shingle roofing, board & batten siding, aluminum soffit & fascia were installed to integrate a fresh look for the boathouse.

Boathouse project on Lake Rosseau built by Classic Muskoka Homes. Wood frame construction adds a gabled roof with full returns over an existing single-storey boathouse with a flat roof. Board and batten siding, new windows and doors bring the look of this boathouse together. Reflected sunlight shimmers at the waterfront face of the boathouse on Lake Rosseau, Muskoka, Ontario. Dock construction was performed by Port Sandfield Dock Works Inc. Steel docks require maintenance after 15 to 20 years and this one received new cedar decking. Old decking is removed and pressure-treated ledgers and nailers are replaced. New cedar decking is cut to conform to the curves of the surrounding granite rock outcrop. Beautiful granite flagstone stairs connect the cottage on this property to the swim dock. A cedar swim dock on the Joseph River at its connection to Lake Rosseau. Bedrock outcrops on this property that have been smoothed by glacial movement make a dramatic backdrop to the warm glow of the cedar swim dock.

This boathouse building project was completed within approximately one (1) month in 2013.
