THE “CONSTRUCTOR” - ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES IN CONSTRUCTION SAFETY
The Constructor on a construction project in Ontario is the party who takes responsibility for hiring and coordinating the work of sub-contracted building trade companies and staff employees who perform the construction work.
The Constructor is charged with responsibility for ensuring the safety of the building site and the construction workers during construction of your building project. This responsibility is defined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Regulations for Construction Projects.
By hiring Classic Muskoka Homes as your builder, you also appoint us as your project's Constructor.
By delegating this responsibility to us through a construction contract, you gain the benefit of being protected from legal or financial liability for injury or damage suffered by a construction worker should a workplace accident, injury or death occur on your property.

THE “EMPLOYER” - ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES IN CONSTRUCTION SAFETY
Our role as an Employer of construction workers for your building project establishes our responsibility as an Employer as defined by the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects.
As an Employer, Classic Muskoka Homes is responsible to manage our staff, sub-contractors and worksite in such a manner as to identify potential workplace hazards, eliminate such hazards and to act in every way reasonable to prevent harm to a worker on our building site.
We deliver on this obligation by maintaining a company health & safety policy and implementation program through which we routinely engage staff & sub-contractors in training and orientation as appropriate to the hazards that may arise in the work that we perform.
Our construction worksites are overseen by a trained & competent construction Supervisor.
THE “SUPERVISOR” - ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES IN CONSTRUCTION SAFETY
Classic Muskoka Homes employs a competent Supervisor for every building site under our management.
You have our commitment that everyone that contributes to building your custom home in Muskoka will return home safe and healthy after the construction work on your building project is complete.
The Supervisor is responsible to ensure that when a hazard arises on the work site, the presence of that hazard is communicated to workers and either eliminated or controlled so that all members of the construction delivery team can be aware and oriented to safe work practices for the conditions present in the work.
